Miami Dolphins free agent news

As the Dolphins reportedly attempt to land Daunte Culpepper, Drew Brees, Steve McNair or David Garrard, it appears as though they are also preparing to part ways with a couple of current players, namely Junior Seau and Gus Frerotte. Both have been asked to renegotiate, but it doesn't look like either deal will get done. Personally, I think Garrard would be a great signing for them, but I'd love to see them hang onto Seau. What do you think?

Looks like the Dolphins are weary of trading for Culpepper due to the rumors that the Vikes are looking to cut him, and are instead exploring the possibilities of acquiring Drew Brees, Steve McNair or Patrick Ramsey.

Probably a smart move on their part.

Drew Brees or Garrard would be an excellent move. Culpepper and McNair can stay away, though. I'd love to keep Seau but understand if they can't.

Re: Miami Dolphins free agent news

Not QB news, but apparently the 'Fins are meeting with C Kevin Mawae, late of the Jets, and veteran DT Sam Adams. They're looking for a new center, but Mawae's getting long in the tooth and probably would be nothing more than a stopgap. Still, can't go wrong with a 6-time Pro Bowler as long as you don't overpay for him.
