In the end, what else is there to say about Kobe Bryant? With an astonishing 60 points tonight, he became the first player in 20 years, and first Laker since 1962, to score at least 50 points in three straight games. He broke his own FedExForum scoring record, and his own record for points against the Grizzlies.
But Memphis absorbed every shot he took, and battled the Lakers all the way down to the wire before falling by just two, 121-119. The Grizzlies suffered through offensive droughts at inopportune times in the fourth quarter that ultimately submarined their chances at winning.
