Obviously, the deadline has since passed, but I'm still glad that Jerry West didn't trade Gasol. There are not to many players as physically as imposing as he is at 7'0" with a freakish wingspan, and at only 26 years of age, he probably hasn't even entered his prime yet. It'd be a step backwards to trade him for the likes of Andrew Bynum or a similar prospect, someone who has the
potential to be like Gasol four or five years down the road when the Grizzlies are staring the real thing right in the eyes.
You never know though. This
is the same GM that traded away Shane Battier for Rudy Gay.
