Re: Les Miles and Hurricane Katrina

Fascinating story about Les Miles and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

"A year ago today, the former University of Michigan offensive guard was the new head coach at Louisiana State and pretty much still an outsider," the article says. "A story in the Baton Rouge paper noted that plenty of fans wondered if Miles was the right choice to replace Nick Saban, who'd led the Tigers to a share of the 2003 national title before leaving for the NFL."

"Then, a year ago Tuesday, Hurricane Katrina hit... And there won't ever be a season like those next four months, no matter how long Les Miles coaches football... The kids who'd never played a game for him suddenly turned to him, with moms and dads and grandmothers missing in the flood."

So has Miles found his place as the Tigers coach after Katrina, a run of nine straight wins, a berth in the SEC title game and a win over Miami in the Peach Bowl? How long does this goodwill last, anyway?
