| Big Game? The NFL allows for two weeks of buildup before the Super Bowl. Somehow it seems appropriate the first LSU-Alabama football game with Nick Saban coaching Alabama should have as much time to marinate. Truth be told, by the time the game kicks off soon after 4 p.m. Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala., 10 months of anticipation will have passed. There is hype, and then there are the layers upon layers of fresh intrigue to spice an already well-seasoned rivalry. The next week holds the promise of back stories, some sounding too good to be true, and perhaps an Internet hoax or two designed to line the walls in one or both locker rooms. If history is an accurate predictor, Saban will exhaust every glare and I-dare-you scheme in his playbook to try to convince everyone around him and his program that the game is a big one because it’s the next one on the schedule. His successor at LSU, Les Miles, is more prone to embrace big games. The former Cowboy from Oklahoma State will come to this collision at the Capstone with a growing reputation for being an unpredictable and perhaps even reckless gunslinger. Full Story
