| Doucet’s return key for offense Whatever else is true for the LSU Tigers when they play Saturday at Alabama, the return of starting wide receiver Early Doucet is a spark to an offense that sorely needed one. In LSU’s most recent game, a 30-24 comeback victory Oct. 20 against Auburn, Doucet led all receivers with seven catches for 93 yards. Demetrius Byrd caught the last-second, game-winning 22-yard touchdown pass, but LSU players gave Doucet credit for helping to open up the offense with his presence. “It was great to have Early back — a big playmaker on your team,” Byrd said. “When I was on the sideline watching him catch all those passes, it gave me a boost and let me know I needed to step up and do what he’s doing.” Full Story
