This Thanksgiving in Hawaii, next year in the Big Apple?
Possibly so for the LSU men’s basketball team.
Tigers coach John Brady said Friday a verbal agreement has been reached for LSU to play in the 2008 NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament.
The event is one of the premier early-season basketball tournaments that features four regions with the regional winners advancing to the final two rounds at Madison Square Garden in New York City over the week of Thanksgiving.
LSU plays this Thanksgiving week at the EA Sports Maui Invitational, also considered one of the premier basketball tournaments of the season.
"We have verbally agreed to play in the NIT," Brady said. "We still have some details to work out, but that’s certainly what we want to do and are planning on doing next season."
