In the all-important Bowl Championship Series poll, which was first released today, LSU is No. 4.
The ranking is used to determine who will play in the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar and Orange bowls, as well as the national championship game in New Orleans on Jan. 7.
In short, it means No. 4 LSU remains in the thick of the national championship hunt despite losing 43-37 at Kentucky last Saturday in triple overtime.
