| LSU notes: Injured WR Early Doucet questionable for Florida game BATON ROUGE -- The outlook for LSU star wide receiver Early Doucet playing Saturday against Florida remains iffy. Doucet has not played or practiced since injuring his groin on Sept. 14 - the day before the Middle Tennessee game. "The schedule is to move hiim up and get him going," LSU coach Les Miles said Sunday afternoon. "I don't know the likelihood of this week. I think Early will be day to day still. I still question whether Early will get there, and I want to do what's right for him because we have a long season. And he's certainly going to be important to us as we go forward." . The No. 1-ranked Tigers (5-0) host No. 9 Florida (4-1) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Tiger Stadium. Doucet, a senior from St. Martinville, has missed three games, but his 15 catches for 153 yards this season is still second on the team. "Early's a big part, and we've missed him," LSU quarterback Matt Flynn said. "But we've got some pretty experienced guys out there and very talented." Sophomore Brandon LaFell leads LSU with 17 catches for 279 yards, but LaFell is also hurt. He injured his calf in the 34-9 win over Tulane Saturday, but it does not appear to be serious. "He's good," Miles said. "He got bruised, but we expect him to play and expect him to practice early this week." OTHER INJURIES Flynn said his injured ankle is not 100 percent, but it is getting there. "There were a couple of times where I would've liked to get out a little bit faster," said Flynn, who was sacked six times by Tulane. "But I think that my ankle's making progress, and it's going to be at full speed soon." Defensive tackle Marlon Favorite sat out the Tulane game to nurse a minor knee injury. "I expect Marlon to play (against Florida)," Miles said. Miles was unsure about backup left guard Will Arnold, who has a viral infection. BALL HAWK Sophomore defensive tackle Al Woods already has three fumble recoveries on the season. He made his third in the third quarter against Tulane to help switch the momentum of the game. GREAT SCOTT Sophomore tailback Charles Scott is all for LSU continuing to play Tulane every year. Through two games against the Green Wave, the Jonesboro-Hodge has gained 154 yards on 21 carries with four touchdowns
