| Dome Delights NOV. 22, 1975 LSU 42, TULANE 6 Attendance: 70,850 Headline: LSU "Pass Bandits" Help Bengals Smash Wave What happened: LSU's Clinton Burrell had three of the Tigers' six interceptions, helping turn what was expected to be a close game into a rout. Running backs Terry Robiskie and Charles Alexander each scored two touchdowns for the Tigers, who led 21-0 at halftime. The game was the last for Tulane Coach Bennie Ellender, who just two years earlier had guided the Green Wave to its first victory against the Tigers since 1948. But the loss to LSU gave Tulane a five-game losing streak to end the season, and he was fired the following week. The victory proved vital for LSU Coach Charlie McClendon, who had been under fire for the Tigers' poor record. LSU finished the season 5-6, including 2-4 in the SEC. "Help Mac Pack" signs were present at the Superdome. In those pre-Gatorade dousing days, he and the staff were thrown into the shower by the LSU players. Worth repeating: DOME DELIGHTS- NOLA.com
