LSU's Miles not entertaining questions about Michigan; focused on Middle Tennessee

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU football coach Les Miles even before the season began had been fielding questions about Michigan, his alma mater.

On Monday, there was increased interest in Miles possibly leaving the No. 2 Tigers to take on the 0-2 Wolverines should a coaching change be in the works.

Michigan coach Lloyd Carr has come under criticism after his preseason fifth-ranked team lost its first two games at home to Appalachian State and Oregon.

But Miles refused to be drawn into the speculation.

"I know you guys want me to get into this, but I'm not," Miles told reporters. "I am at a great school with a great team. I'm at a place I love. I am not going to talk about any other school. That would be a waste of productive time for my team."

Miles said his focus is on Saturday's opponent — Middle Tennessee State University (0-2).

"This is a very talented opponent," said Miles. "Middle Tennessee put 42 points on No. 8 Louisville. They were the Sun Belt Conference Champions a year ago. They played in the Motor City Bowl. I know the year we played Alabama in 2005 and went into overtime for the win, that year Middle Tennessee played Alabama extremely tough.

"If you look at some of the scores in college football, it tells you that you better be ready to play. You need to understand that it doesn't matter what conference your opponent is in or what there record is, if they have talent, they can reach up and play extremely well against you."

Despite the 58-42 loss at Louisville, the Blue Raiders had 555 yards

He ought to call Michigan while his stock is high because Saban is going to bring it low when Alabama beats them on National TV. So Les get your deal done now.
