| LSU QB rests injured right ankle; Miles says it's not serious BATON ROUGE -- LSU fifth-year senior quarterback Matt Flynn was held out of practice Monday, Coach Les Miles said, but Miles doesn't expect it to affect Flynn's status for Saturday night's game with Middle Tennessee State. Flynn injured his right ankle in the first half Saturday night against Virginia Tech at Tiger Stadium but played into the fourth quarter. The injury was not serious enough to warrant X-rays, Miles said. Sophomore quarterback Ryan Perrilloux played most of the fourth quarter. "I don't think there is a real worry," Miles said. "We've taken some precautionary steps to give him this day off. We'll be looking at him Tuesday and Wednesday." When asked if there was a possibility Flynn would not play, Miles said, "I'm not prepared to answer that question right now. We look forward to coming to the game with Matt prepared to play." Perrilloux might see extensive action again after a strong outing against the Hokies. He completed all five of his passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 21 yards on nine carries. He even got a bouquet from Miles, who suspended Perrilloux during the summer. "Ryan has shown mobility and the ability to throw. . . . I think he's coming of age," Miles said. "That's a work in progress." HOLD THAT DIAL: LSU fans will have to wait until Sunday to find out if the kickoff for the Tigers' game against South Carolina game will be moved to the 2:30 p.m. slot. CBS is exercising its six-day window option before deciding between the Tigers and Gamecocks or Georgia at Alabama. If CBS opts for the Bulldogs and Tide, the LSU game will be picked up by ESPN for a 6:45 p.m. kickoff. Flynn sits out practice- NOLA.com
