SEC player of the year Glen Davis announced Monday that he is coming back to LSU for another season. "There are a lot of things I want to accomplish, not only as a player but as a person," he told reporters "Furthermore, I feel that college is the best time of my life. I feel that staying at LSU will help me mentally and physically."

The news wasn't all good for LSU, though, as SEC freshman of the year and co-defensive player of the year Tyrus Thomas announced that he is going to enter the NBA draft. "When you're hot, you're hot," Thomas told the AP. "I have to take advantage of the opportunity available to me."

What's more important to the team's fortunes in 06-07 - having Davis back, or losing Thomas? Will they be a Final Four quality team again, or are they on the decline?

As far as reaching the final four is concerned losing Thomas is much more detrimental than retaining Davis is beneficial. It was good he came back though, his mechanics can use a little work. And he is uber-intelligent, he probably has some interest in earning his degree.
