| LSU Tigers VS. Mississippi State Bulldogs Miles Previews Opener at Press Luncheon (08/27/2007) BY Home - LSUsports.net—The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics BATON ROUGE -- LSU head coach Les Miles addressed the media on Monday at his first press luncheon of the 2007 season. Coach Miles previewed this Thursday's season-opening matchup against Mississippi State. Members of the Geaux Zone on LSUsports.net can watch the archive now. COMMENTS FROM LSU COACH LES MILES AT HIS WEEKLY PRESS CONFERENCE Opening statement... “Welcome back to campus. I am glad to hear that Mike the Tiger is on campus. They told me he is at the vet school being checked out. I wanted to make sure the season started with Mike in place.” “Summer camp was long and hot. We got a lot accomplished. I felt like our kids came in great shape. They worked hard. Our team is healthy and looking forward to playing a game. When you work so hard, practices are only enjoyed because you can celebrate that hard work with a game. We are in game week and you can see it in the faces of our players. Our guys are looking forward to Thursday night. It will be the first nationally televised game of the year and our guys always look forward to playing on television. There is a little bit extra enthusiasm because of that.” On Mississippi State... “They are a very quality opponent. They return 10 starters on offense. Their offensive line and tight end are intact. Their quarterback (Michael Henig) returns with a lot of experience. Last year he was injured but still played in seven games. He is a quality guy that understands the offense. Their tailback Anthony Dixon is a 6-1, 240-pounder. He had close to 700 yards rushing a year ago. We will make sure that our team shows up as a group when trying to tackle him. Their fullback (Jeremy) Jones is 6-2, 275-pounds and gives a great push for that tailback.”

| Re: LSU Tigers VS. Mississippi State Bulldogs Uh oh last year LSU scored 167 points in the first quarter. They only scored 3 against Mississippi State. If the bulldogs would stick to running the ball rather than throwing 4 interceptions this game would only be a three point affair. Be glad Croom is your opponent Paper Tigers. |

| Re: LSU Tigers VS. Mississippi State Bulldogs if the Bulldogs had a decent QB the game would have been much much better ...... they have a defense that really was also let down by the QB ..... i kind of hate to dump on this kid, but gees that was a bad game this game should have been more like 24-10 imo (and it could have even been closer then that) ........ Miss St. isnt as good as LSU ..... but they are not 45-0 bad either

| Re: LSU Tigers VS. Mississippi State Bulldogs I was impressed with LSU. Flynn was pretty good, but what impressed me most was the Tiger defense. Six interceptions, forced three fumbles and held MSU to just 10 yards of rushing. I know the Bulldogs aren't all that good, but this defense was most impressive during the shutout victory.

| Re: LSU Tigers VS. Mississippi State Bulldogs i think you give the LSU defense a little too much credit ..... most of those int's were thrown right to them ............ the game could have been much different if the Bulldogs had a good QB |
