BATON ROUGE -- Just nine days from the opener against Mississippi State, the LSU defensive line remains a work in progress. Luxurious progress, that is.
The Tigers are remarkably deep along the line, and so while only two starting spots are locked down, several players are expected to play extensively. The company line is that starting becomes less important when the players know they will play a lot, but senior left tackle Glenn Dorsey said the words are genuine.
"You want to be that guy, you know, who starts; that's just competitive," he said. "But if you're doing the right things, if you're learning your techniques, using your eyes and your hands, you're going to play. If you have the ability, they're going to play you, and when we put the second string in, there's not any real drop off."
