The LSU Tigers will hold their first scrimmage today.
According to the team's official website, they'll run 36 full-contact plays and then 30 "thud" plays (hitting, no tackling to the ground). The first and second teams are expected to see 18 snaps each, all except for QB Matt Flynn, who reportedly will only see a little bit of action.
“This is going to be a competitive scrimmage and we are going to look at all of the guys,” head coach Les Miles said. “It is going to be an opportunity for certain guys to make their mark. We are 20 days away from the first game. What you are looking for as a coach is a guy that can maintain the intensity of a live go for the length of the drill and improve during the drill."
