BATON ROUGE -- Coming off four consecutive trips to the Final Four, the LSU Lady Tigers announced Thursday they will begin their next campaign within the competing tournament's framework -- the Preseason WNIT.
At the same time, LSU hopes to duplicate in 2008 some of its biggest games of the 2007 season by lining up rematches of its Elite Eight showdown with Connecticut and its Final Four opponent, Rutgers. Both of those games against Big East titans remain tentative, LSU officials stressed, but were included in a May scheduling e-mail circulated among a handful of athletic department officials. The games would bookend the Lady Tigers' schedule, with LSU traveling to New Jersey in November to face the Lady Knights. The Huskies would come to Baton Rouge in February.
