OXFORD — Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said his frontcourt turned in its best performance during the 74-72 win against Arkansas last Saturday.
But the rejuvenated group will face an even bigger test tonight, when the Rebels (12-5 1-2 in Southeastern Conference) face No. 16 LSU (12-4, 1-1) in Baton Rouge, La., at 7 p.m.
The Tigers are led by 6-foot-9, 295-pound center Glen Davis, who tops the SEC in rebounding (10.9) and is second in scoring (19.2 points). The junior was named the 2006 SEC Player of the Year and also was an All-American.
"He certainly appears to be a coaches dream," Kennedy said. "He brings such passion and energy to the game. He's just such a handful physically."
