Matt Simms, the son of Phil Simms (and thusly, brother of NFL QB Chris Simms), has committed to sign with the University of Louisville.

Rivals.com says he's the 13th best pro-style QB in the nation among HS players.

How big of an impact will the kid have on Louisville next year?

Haven't seen the scouting report on ol' Mattie, but he sure picked a good program to go to. Louisville likes to put the pigskin up, IIRC. He'll have plenty of chances to show his stuff, and if he's good enough, maybe its time to mark the Cards down for an early favorite to win the Big East in 2007?

well thats a shame cause i like his father and brother, but because of silly hs rilvary between schools i cant like him . And even worse now he goes to louisville. But he does bring a big name to the big east which we need so thats good. lousiville and WVU will be the face of this organzation for a long time. . But now the big east needs schools like usf uconn and rutgers and pitt to start getting big names in their state. If they dont i see wvu and lousiville leaving to cocnferences that soon hope to have their own championship game.

He's not gonna have any impact. He'll be behind Brian Brohm of course so at best he'll be a back-up and probably should be red-shirted, I've seen him play, and he needs to work on a lot of things. (especially the way he throws so many floaters)
