The University of Louisville men's basketball team was beaten 69-67 by Connecticut at the XL Center last night. There will be considerable debate about a missed three-point shot.

The video clips will suggest it was a three-point attempt by Cardinals forward Juan Palacios at the buzzer. A three-pointer that Palacios stepped back behind the line and then pump-faked to take even though Louisville needed only two points to push the game into overtime.

But the video clips deceive. Keep punching the rewind button.

You'll see 21 other three-pointers bounding here, there and everywhere but into the basket. Some were launched by Palacios, a 21 percent three-point shooter this season. Five more, in fact. Then there were the six three-pointers Terrence Williams missed. And three by Earl Clark, who makes fewer than 20 percent of his threes.
