Louisville's hometown hero, Brian Brohm

Louisville's hometown hero, Brian Brohm, glad he stayed home
Senior QB reached all of his goals but national title
Wednesday, November 28, 2007

The team struggles can hardly be blamed on Brohm. He has obliterated his career highs with 3,787 yards passing and a school record-tying 29 touchdown passes with 12 interceptions. The offense has been so dependent on its quarterback and so deficient in the running department that Brohm has thrown an average of 41 passes per game.
"He's stood in there and made some tremendous throws with people breathing down his neck," coach Steve Kragthorpe said. "And to me, he's done it in situations where guys with lesser character would mail it in."

"I believe he's the finest quarterback in the country as far as running the offense as a pocket passer," Rutgers coach Greg Schiano said. "… Even when guys drop passes on him, he doesn't get flustered. He is a pro. And he will be soon enough."

Re: Louisville's hometown hero, Brian Brohm

Yeah, he's a definite first-rounded. Not sure he'll still be the first QB taken or not, but he's going to make someone a damn fine quarterback.
