| RU secondary gears for Louisville attack Facing wide receiver teammates Kenny Britt and Tiquan Underwood in practice this week is as close to simulating Louisville wideouts Harry Douglas and Mario Urrutia as a corner can possibly get. "They've very comparable," strong safety Ron Girault said of each team's set of receivers, "especially Britt and Urrutia. They're both big, physical guys. And Ti and Douglas are alike because they're both so quick and shifty. "When we're practicing, it's almost as if we're getting a chance to go against their receivers -- although I think we face the best receivers we can face every day in practice in ours." Senior quarterback Brian Brohm, a Heisman candidate before Louisville's collective meltdown, leads the Big East in passing yards (3,787), touchdown passes (29) and total offense. So that hasn't changed despite the Cards' struggles. "I don't feel like they're even close to what their record says they are," Girault said. "You know they'll be out there trying to get a win against us. They're very talented. They have weapons all over the place and they're a dangerous team. We can't underestimate them." http://www.nj.com/rutgers/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1195623427154250.xml&coll=1&thispage=1 Tom Luicci may be reached at tluicci@starledger.com |
