The Louisville Cardinals (3-2, 0-1 in Big East) play a Friday national game this week. They welcome the Utah Utes (2-3, 0-2 in Mountain West) to Papa John's Stadium.

The Cardinals should be able to win this game...right?

I wonder if they may look ahead to a game with Cincy the week after.

Yeah, they could be looking ahead. That's always a concern, especially considering how well the Bearcats have been playing. The Louisville defense had their best game of the season on Saturday, but that said, Brian Brohm had his worst of the year. I wonder if that's any cause for concern.

Confidence breeds confidence. The win over NC State in which Louisville made four personnel changes in defence certainly gives offense more confidence that defense will gain a week more of experience.

Louisville cannot overlook this game. Utah doesn't make it on national TV very much so that does something to teams playing Louisville like it is their Superbowl.

(I wish they had made them only 7 point favorites; our defense is still breaking in new people who did well against NC State)

3) Keys to victory for Louisville:
A) Defensive pressure against Utah QB (Utah running game isn’t so good)

B) Running Game
Louisville has not one but two Mac truck type of running backs against a poor run defense for Utah; Utah’s pass defense is said to be good

C) Harry Douglas (back from injury) at wide receiver; Brohm’s number one target
With Cardinals at home, Brohm and Douglas are on their playground.

D) Fan Support
Fans can make a difference in tight games; no game is a guarantee the way “this year” is going for ALL the teams in college

I could see an upset here Utah tore a part a very good UCLA defense and this Louisville defense is crap. This game will be a very close shootout
