Fire Steve Kragthorpe!

Well, new Louisville football coach Steve Kragthorpe was feeling the heat somewhat after last weekend's loss to Kentucky. So what's it going to be like now that the Cardinals have lost to the formerly winless Syracuse Orange? Anyone think he might be in legitimate trouble of losing his job after just one year?

Re: Fire Steve Kragthorpe!

If he keeps this up, he may not make it a year. We can get past the Kentucky loss, but never a crushing from the worst team in division 1. Hats off to the U of L defense, because against Syracuse they made a nobody quarterback look like a champion. He threw for over 400 yards. I will not be attending anymore home games this season. I will not pay Kragthorpes salary until he shows he has some coaching skills. This is forr all of my close friends enjoy going to Papa Johns Stadium.

You all have a new coach, you can't expect perfection his first season. As far as not attendin another game, well what can I say... Card fans are none for bein their while the team wins but nowhere to be found when the team loses.

To some degree, I think that's exactly what was expected though, Q. Brohm and the high powered offense was there. The team almost ran the table last year and there were some who thought they could do so and win the Big East in 2007. But to lose like this to a team that's been playing as poorly as Syracuse, that's gotta hurt. People look at this team and say, okay, what changed between last year and this year? And the primary thing that changed was the head coach, really. So of course he's going to take the heat.

Very true. The defensive has lacked. I would did a somewhat comparison to Manning and Colts. For a long time they depended on that high-powered offensive with limited defense. As soon as a team gave the offense fits, Manning and company fell. Much the same for the cards this year.... atleast from my standpoint.

Yeah, I'd agree with that assessment. The defense was better last year, though. Then again, last year they had Okoye.

Re: Fire Steve Kragthorpe!

All I have to say is this...no matter what I will Love Louisville until the day I die!!! Other teams have had bumps in the road...maybe not as blatently as U of L...but their fans stick by the team. It always does get better.... As for Kragthorpe, there is probably no way he will be fired after only 1 season. Even Shula from Alabama was left in place for almost 3 seasons before they fired him. So...we'd better get used to him staying and deal with it. As for as the defensive coordinator...maybe that is a place we should start adjusting immediately. People in the right places need to put a foot in Kragthorpe's A$$ and make him make some serious adjustments and let him know that as fans, we want to see him and show some dam emotion on the sidelines when things are going to sh...t. And for pete's sake, give the players that have earned it their credit. All I've been hearing is how bad this is...how crappy that is...on the U of L's defense. There are players on the offense who are doing their best to keep our heads above water and deserve some respect and pats on the back!!!!! As for me... GREAT JOB BRIAM BROHM, HARRY DOUGLAS, AND ALLEN....keep up the great work and we're behind you and rooting for you. GO CARDS!!!!!!

Re: Fire Steve Kragthorpe!

A dream lost!

Kragthorpe since you’ve been around
You’ve done nothing but bring us down
Another loss to Kentucky – this one like no other
Are you sure your not Tom Jurichs brother

Why else would you still be here
Are you trying to make the fans disappear?
Were still fans of the red and black?
We just don’t want you to come back

Stadium expansion and a National championship banner
You’re not the one and that’s the point of the matter
I’m sure you’re a nice guy and lots of luck
Please leave Louisville in your new Ford truck!

Re: Fire Steve Kragthorpe!

I would have to figure Louisville may have suffered on the offensive side from holding back on a defense struggling to catch up. It is vise-versa from last year.
By 4 games into the season, the Card fans should judge whether they are competitive on both offense and defense.

Sure the loss was disgruntling as the offense and special teams played so inept but engaging a "fire" battle-cry shows the character of the fans and that is not needed right now for future recruiting.

Kentucky had a very good defense. You have to give them that. All of them had long experience on the field. Now Louisville just has to build up their numbers again.

The season has just begun!! Go Cards!!!
Way to go Ron English for turning our defense from zero's to somebodies!!

Re: Fire Steve Kragthorpe!

Petrino is the person to blame for the situation in da' Ville...he used the Cards for one purpose and one purpose only...to propel his ass into the NFL...he only cared about himself...he didn't give a flip about building UofL for the future. Petrino is all about Bobby Petrino.
