Petrino Leaving and the recruiting effect

I follow recruting pretty heavy for my local team which is the heels, and I can tell you some of the guys that are going to other schools. But I also know that when there is a coaching change (especially at a top 10 school), recruiting is effected.

How do you guys think recruiting will be effected with there being about one month before national signing day? And who will Louisville pick to coach their team with it being so late in the game and a lot of the top coaching prospects already at other schools. One name I have heard is Tulsa's coach Steve Kragthorpe, but he has repeatly stated that he was staying at Tulsa. But I believe Petrino made the same comment at the beginning of the year when signed the 10 year contract.

Re: Petrino Leaving and the recruiting effect

I can imagine they'll lose a lot of top recruits, especially if they take too long to find a replacement. Petrino really's screwed this program right good. Don't know which recruits they'll lose, don't know if anyone will transfer or if guys like Brohm and Bush will come out in the draft.

Anyone who hears of a Louisville recruit changing their committment, please post it.

Re: Petrino Leaving and the recruiting effect

They do have this one kid that any college will want. His name is Josh Chichester out of Ohio. He's a 6'8, 200 lb wide receiver. That is tall. He's a 4 star recruit by scout.com. He's not explosive in that he runs 4.74 40 but with that size, he could be bulked up some and make a great slot tight end.

With Butch Davis having the ohio connection, and as of lately he has been using it as his personal recuiting grounds, maybe we can still this kid.

Will Matt Simms leave them? I think so. Rumors say he'll look to go to South Florida or Rutgers.

Re: Petrino Leaving and the recruiting effect

I heard Rutgers was really after him and that was his second choice. So that could def happen.
