Cardinals in Orange Bowl

All signs point to a Louisville Cardinals - Wake Forest Demon Deacons match-up in the 2006 Orange Bowl. The Big East vs. ACC match-up will pit two teams who were shun from the national spotlight. I think most thought the Cardinals would come out on top of the Big East this year but who thought Wake Forest could out last Florida State, Miami and in the end, Georgia Tech?

Brian Brohm will have the national stage to perform on and become the best college QB in the nation once Brady Quinn and Troy Smith leave for the NFL.

I'd have to pick the Cardinals to win over the Deacons in the Orange Bowl. Does anyone think differently?

Hmm... this would be an interesting match-up. I'm not sure the Deacons have the defensive speed to keep up with the Cardinals offensively, so I agree that Louisville would have to come in as the favorites.

The Cards practiced for about two hours, it says, in preparation for Tuesday's game against ACC Champion Wake Forest.

It's Louisville's first BCS bowl appearance. Can they win it? Post your predictions for the game here!

Re: Cardinals in Orange Bowl

Well, the Orange Bowl will have to go a long way to be as entertaining as some of those games yesterday (especially that Boise State game!). But tonight, the Cardinals and the Demon Deacons lock horns. Any last minute predictions for this one?

Re: Cardinals in Orange Bowl

The Cardinals won and Louisville fans are celebrating their first Orange Bowl Championship. Congratulations.

I wonder if Brohm will go out like this or return next year.

Congrats to the Cards, who not only will finish the season with the highest ranking in school history, they won the most games (12) in school history AND they clinched the Bowl Challenge Cup for the Big East conference. So, uh, who's overrated now?
