Louisville Cardinals vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Louisville can pretty much wrap up the Big East, a BCS berth and quite possibly a trip to the national title game this Thursday. All they need to do, for the second week in a row, is beat an undefeated conference rival. This time, its Rutgers (ranked #12 as of Sunday morning) serving as the competition as the Scarlet Knights host the #5 Cardinals. So, can Brohm and company handle Ray Rice and the Knights like they did WVU, or will the State University of New Jersey pull the upset?

Re: Louisville Cardinals vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

The biggest football game in New Jersey history is this Thursday night. Lets hope it will be more competitive than last week's Cardinal beatdown of the Mountaineers. For the Scarlet Knights to have a chance, they need their run game to carry them, their defense to keep playing smart and limit turnovers. The usual.

Re: Louisville Cardinals vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Someone made the comment on ESPN's Sports Reporters this morning that with Louisville-WVU and Louisville-Rutgers both being Thursday night games made them seem, to paraphrase, like the minor leagues played on Thursday and the "big boys" played on Saturday. What a ridiculous comment to make. Louisville could well wind up being the #3 or #4 team in the BCS right now, and if they brought their 'A' game like they did against the Mountaineers, I firmly believe they could beat Florida or Auburn right now.

Re: Louisville Cardinals vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Well that's just hate being spewed on the Big East lefty.

Thursday nights are like Monday Nights for the NFL.

The day is finally here. It looks like if the Cardinals can win, they'll have a big step into the National Title game. (Although Florida/Auburn will be right behind them).

If Rutgers pulls the amazing upset, it's almost assured to be a Michigan/Ohio State vs. Florida/Auburn Title game.

Oh, I know. I love the Thursday night games...Big East pretty much has the spotlight all to themselves. Can't believe how much hype there is for this one tonight. Biggest game in Rutgers history, they're calling it. I hear today that Louisville would become the 1st team to beat unbeaten, ranked opponents in consecutive weeks in November in NCAA history. Can't wait!

The crowd at Rutgers Stadium is going to be electric tonight...they will be the definitive 12th man.

Re: Louisville Cardinals vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Rutgers is struggling right now, down 22-7 early in the 2nd quarter. Schiano is calling WAY too many pass plays, and their QB Teel is was too innacurate. Louisville got a big 100 yard kickoff return, and then took in a blocked PAT for a 2-point conversion what the Knights inexplicably kept away from the football.

Amazing football game. The Cardinals offense struggled big time in the second half against a stout Rutgers defense. Ray Rice picked up the load and led his team to victory.

Ito made good on a missed field goal after a dumb mistake by a Cardinals player.

Congrats Rutgers!

Re: Louisville Cardinals vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Yeah, hell of a finish. Great 2nd half comeback by the Scarlet Knights, and a big mistake on that missed field goal. The guy who was offsides was on the far edge, and wasn't really a factor in the block attempt. And suddenly, not only are the Jersey fans thrilled, but so are the Florida and Texans fans. Now both teams have a real good shot at that BCS title game, depending on how things go from here. That said, this night belongs to Rutgers. Highest ranked opponent they've ever beaten. Congrats, fellas!
