WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

This is it, folks. Thursday, Nov. 2. The big one in the Big East. Pat White, Steve Slaton and the undefeated, 7-0, #3 West Virginia Mountaineers come to Louisville to play the Brian Brohm and the undefeated, 7-0, #5 Cardinals. What more needs to be said? Who do you think comes out in this clash of conference titans?

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

I rarely get amped up for any regular season college football games (besides perhaps OSU/Mich) but this Thursday night, I'm pretty stoked for this Big East clash.

I'm going with the steady pick and taking West Virginia to retain their leadership in the Big East. It should be a close game though.

Ill go with wvu winning of course, but i think there not going to win it on the ground, i belive everyone will see why pat white is an underated qb, and he will show his arm off well this thurs, and apperently i just found out im having a kegger at my house this thurs lol. I thought id goto the local sports bar, but my roommate out thought me.

This will be one of the premier games of the season. I see the Cardinals taking advantage of their home field to win 17-14.

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

Game day is finally here and the college football world will be watching Kentucky tonight. So many ramifications stemming from the result tonight. If either team wins tonight and then goes undefeated, they could very well end up playing the Michigan/OSU winner.

I see WVU showing the nation why they should be number two after the Ohio State/Michigan game....WVU over Louisville 27-14

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

Both offenses picked up in the first half as the Mountaineers lead the Cardinals 14-13 as they're inching closer to halftime. The Cardinals are inside the five and about to score as I type.

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

Cards are just starting to run away with it now. First a defensive touchdown, and now they just scored one on special teams, and its 30-14. Lots of mistakes by WVU -- fumbles, penalties, a shanked punt away from the coverage that led to a return TD. Mountaineers are definitely not ready for primetime, and they're definitely not playing like the #3 team in the country right now.

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals are trying to get as much clock off as possible or just trying to keep scoring (West Virginia can't seem to stop Brohm). Cardinals have the ball inside the 10-yard line and have a 10-point lead with just over 10 minutes to go.

10s rule the world!

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

Louisville just stopped WVU, and time is running out for the Mountaineers. The Cardinals lead 44-27 with 7:16 remaining and they just got the ball back. Folks, it sure looks like Petrino's boys are about to knock off the 3rd ranked team in the country. Brohm's thrown for 350+ yards and a TD.

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

Louisville won and should without question jump to being the #3 ranked team in the nation after this weekends games. It's up to Louisville now to defeat the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers and ensure themselves an undefeated season. It would be mighty tough to keep Louisville out of the National Championship game.

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

I doubt they move up all the way to #3, but they will be #4. A very impressive win for the Cardinals, who just flat out out-played WVU in every phase of the game. White and Slaton had some flashes of brilliance, but the fumbles and miscues really hurt. There is no joy in Mountaineer-land today, because what appeared to be a title contender on Wednesday will be lucky to be a top 10 team come Monday.

Re: WVU Mountaineers vs. Louisville Cardinals

Well it was an exciting game even though I'm a Mountaineer! This is becoming a great rivalry with the competitiveness of our last 2 games. Brohm is the best QB in the league and I'm hoping he can go on to show that in the national champ. game. Looking forward to visiting your stadium next time we play over in L'ville!
