Michael Bush going pro?

Injured Louisville RB Michael Bush, who is out for the season, is currently considering whether or not to accept a redshirt and try to come back next season with the Cardinals, or end his college career and enter the NFL Draft next April.

Given the extent of his injury -- "Bush had a titanium rod inserted into the leg and two screws to hold it in place during surgery on Sept. 4," according to the Associated Press -- I think it'd probably be best for him to come back for another year in college. His health would definitely have to hurt his draft status, wouldn't you think?

Re: Michael Bush going pro?

I doubt he would've been anything higher than a mid-2nd round pick (and that's without looking at the rest of the possible draft class). If he does go pro, after such a serious leg injury, he'd have to drop a round and possible into the second day.

Depending on what the prospects for Louisville next year look like, I too, would say his best bet would be to return to school and show the country he's still great. Then again, we're not being shown all the money he's likely to make in the pro's.
