Running back Darius Ashley, a 5-foot-8 redshirt freshman, arrived at the University of Louisville as a highly touted prospect from Cincinnati. Rivals.com rated him the No.20 player in Ohio in 2007 after he rushed for a state championship-game record 272 yards in leading St. Xavier to a title.
U of L coach Steve Kragthorpe said he figured Ashley would join
Victor Anderson
and Bilal Powell in a three-man rotation, but Ashley did not play against Indiana State on Saturday. Kragthorpe said Monday during his news conference that “it didn't present itself” to play Ashley in the Cardinals' 30-10 win.
