Kobe Bryant out for world championships

Kobe Bryant of the L.A. Lakers underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Friday. He's going to be out 8-12 weeks and as a result will not play for the U.S. in the upcoming FIBA World Championships in Japan.

I could see this actually costing the US a couple of games.
