Cool Kobe

I wonder with Shaq's success in the playoffs, if you'd be able to even find Kobe for a comment. He's probably hiding somewhere. Has anybody heard any kind of Kobe reaction in the past couple of weeks?

His comment would be..."That lucky SOB gets to go from playing with me to playing with Wade....why can't I have that type of luck"...

Re: Kobe

Very astute point Gotham, its not like Shaq has been unstoppable in these playoffs. And if The Lakers had the big man equivalent too Dwayne Wade, it stands a chance they would be in the finals along with Miami.
In addition, Kobe has been all over the place since being knocked out of the playoffs, strictly by chance I caught him on TNT (halftime and post-game, where him and Barkley really got into it), ESPN Shootaround and Best Damn Sports Show. So its not as if he is in hiding.

I have nothing against Shaq, but Wade has carried the team in their last two wins...and if Shaq gets another title, its not like he didn't get them without arguable two of the best players in the game.

Cool Re: Kobe

I look at it this way: Shaq has been in 3 cities. All 3 have made the championship round. Hardaway did nothing after Shaq left. Kobe hasn't won a playoff series since Shaq left. And Miami was just an average team before Shaq got there. A trend perhaps?

Hardaway was great when Shaq was here...the point was Shaq had talent around him...without those guys Shaq would have zero rings...zip...nada...He needs them as much as they need him...you got to see that.

Cool Re: Kobe

I know what you're saying Gotham but let me ask you this: If you were trying to win a championship for one year and could only have Shaq OR Kobe, who would it be? (You wouldn't know who else was on your team). I would take Shaq.

I will always take the big man over the great guard...I am the guy who would take Wilt over Jordan.

Re: Kobe

I am with you on Wilt over Jordan any day of the week. Nobody, and I mean nobody wins anything by themselves. Moses Malone once said he and four of his friends from St. Pete's could beat the Celtics. How did that work out for him? When you put a great scorer in with a great big man, you are going places. Oscar Robertson and Jabbar are a good example. The Big O won nothing for years until he teamed with Kareem.

That's all I am saying...rare are the teams that don't follow that format and win.

I respectfully disagree with your position on this. Wilt over Jordan? How did Wilt do in 1969 against a crippled Willis Reed who was 7 inches shorter than him? Answer: You couldn't find him. If Wilt was so great, couldn't he have willed his team to beat the Celtics just once? And he had Jerry West so you can't use he wasn't playing with anyone excuse. I would take Jabbar over Wilt for the simple reason that Jabbar actually made some big shots in his carrer.

No need to show respect my man Pundit... ...we are all in this for fun and giggles...

Reed did have a good little team around him at that time...Wilt was injured most of the year and played all of 12 regualr season games that year...which was an added factor...Wilt went against the Celtic dynasty and later the Knicks...Jordan's competition was never as good.

Yes- Reed did have a great team around him but that doesn't explain why Wilt didn't dominate him. Reed could barely move in that game. And I'm not asking Wilt to beat the Celtics 3 times. How about just once?

Cool Re: Kobe

Welcome to GoTeamsGo Magic. Did Wilt win that championship before or after the 3 second rule was put in?
