| Pau Gasol Lives Up to the Hype ![]() In his first game with the Lakers since the (now medium-sized) trade from Memphis, Pau Gasol was extremely impressive. Fighting through early foul trouble (at halftime Gasol had just six points and three fouls) Pau finished with a powerful stat line of 24 points (on 10-15 shooting), 12 rebounds, and four assists. It's not just that he was able to put up numbers like this after being with the team for just 72 hours, but it's the way that he did it that has Laker fans ecstatic, and the rest of the league in a complete panic mode. | Re: Pau Gasol Lives Up to the Hype Pau Gasol stepped up his play in Game 5. He looked good on Garnett showing that he's not necessarily soft like his haters have said. Last edited by Lefty Noob : 06-16-2008 at 02:50 PM. Reason: removed link |

| Re: Pau Gasol Lives Up to the Hype I think for a seven footer, he's more of a finesse player and doesn't drive to the basket as much like a Kevin Garnett type of player. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy but he's playing out of position and is man handled by the Celtics under the basket. That's where I think his reputation of being soft comes from. Last night's game was much better since he got more aggressive than the past few games. I don't like the tag but he needs to stay aggressive or else the Lakers will lose. That's what I don't want to see happen. |
