Phil Jackson ties Red Auerbach

According to the Associated Press, "Phil Jackson pulled even with Red Auerbach in regular-season victories, 5 1/2 seasons after tying the Boston Celtics coach for the most NBA championships won... Kobe Bryant had 31 points and seven assists before sitting out the fourth quarter and the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz 123-109 Friday night, giving Jackson his 938th career win and a share of seventh place on the career list." Hmm, which guy was/is the better coach, the Zen Master or the cigar chomper?

Re: Phil Jackson ties Red Auerbach

Red Auerbach by far is the better coach. I don't want to make it sound like I think Jackson is a BAD coach, but it wasn't much of a stretch to win the titles he did. He won with MJ and as soon as he retired he left for LA and won again with Shaq and Kobe. I know Red had good players too, but if I am not mistaken he built his team.
