Re: Anybody like the Lakers' chances? Lots of cheap shots tonight in game three. Great TV to have Bill Walton saying how his son's flagrant foul in the first quarter was stupid and uncalled for! Walton says a lot of goofy things, but that was refreshing to hear. By the way, does Steve Jones, who did the color in the Cavs-Wizards game, have incriminating pictures of network execs? he is the worst, not only in basketball but possibly in all of sports. Walton then continued on how Luke was missing easy shots, which he was, while the other announcer was sticking up for him! Hilariously entertaining. But Walton will condemn his son's foul, but then say that Kwame brown throwing a guy on the ground was just playoff basketball. But I still like to hear him during these games. Funny thing too- he had such a bad stuttering problem at one time that he overcame.

I saw the game in Luke's rookie year when Bill was commentating and for the first two minutes of Luke's floor time, Bill said NOTHING until his partner finally said, "Uh well you must be so proud". (With concomitant shot of father beaming in pride.) I'm glad he's found a way to effectively comment on Luke's play.

Re: Anybody like the Lakers' chances? And onto game three... For the first time in two years, i'm proud to be a fan of the purple-and-gold... Every starter in double figures, double-doubles from Luke, Kwame and Lamar, Smush for eighteen with zero turnovers, and Kobe playing awesome ball without putting up an outrageous number of shots while dishing out seven assists. Best of all, the team is following Dr. Phil's will (the further they go the higher the Greatest Coach Ever's stock will rise) to the letter, and Kobe's play should be blowing away the reputation of the Lakers' "five-on-one" attitude. These three games against Phoenix have just represented excellent team ball exploiting the Suns' lack of inside game and suppressing their speed. If the Lakes meet their stadium mates the Clippers in the next round, the same trend should continue (and hopefully Kobe will be talking as much smack to Sammy Cassell as he is to Nash) and LA may well win again. And then we can watch Dirk and Kobe duel to the tune of forty points a game each...

Re: Anybody like the Lakers' chances? The Lakers beat the Suns tonight in over-time, 99-98. Kobe Bryant had only 24 points, but we got to credit him with eight assists. Check out the boxscore at: http://www.sikids.com/basketball/nba..._boxscore.html Yes, I know it is SIKids.Com but I think it is better than SI.Com
