Las Vegas, July 14, 2007 -- The Denver Nuggets ran past the Los Angeles Lakers 120-88 at Thomas & Mack Center on Friday evening.
The Lakers were outscored 30-6 in the second period and were never able to recover. In fact, Los Angeles didn’t even get on the scoreboard in the second quarter until Jeff Graves knocked down a jumper at the 5:28 mark.
Von Wafer scored 10 of the first 19 points for the Nuggets en route to a game-high 22 points. Wafer shot 61.5 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from long range. In four games this summer, he’s averaging 19.8 points while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor in 26.8 minutes of play. Meanwhile Larry Turner, Rodney White, Jordan Farmar and Jarvis Crittenton all had 13 points for the Lakers.
