Somehow, the way the deal kept changing, I had a feeling it wouldn't get done. So now what? Garnett will be hard to move, and Kobe's still disgruntled in L.A. No way a straight-up trade for Garnett would work for the Lakers because they just wouldn't have enough value to give back to the Wolves. Is there anyone else they can pursue who can make Kobe happy?

They were reporting all night that KG phoned Kobe and asked if he still wanted to be traded if he came to the team. He must have gotten his answer to kill the deal.
