| Re: Kobe Bryant trade rumors So here's the latest from the Los Angeles Times: "Buss wanted to appeal to the nine-time All-Star, reminding him that trades take time to develop and that winning remains the focus of the organization, but Bryant voiced concerns about the direction of the franchise and reiterated his demand to be traded, said a source with knowledge of the situation."

| Re: Kobe Bryant trade rumors Bryant Still Wants Out Kobe Bryant's personal ping-pong game continues. The Lakers guard met with Lakers owner Jerry Buss in Spain on Friday and re-stated his desire to be traded, according to multiple reports in the Los Angeles area.An internet report in the Press-Enterprise of Riverside, Calif., citing "two league sources," said Buss was "shocked" by Bryant's request and left the meeting without knowing how he would respond. The Lakers confirmed to the Press-Enterprise that Buss and Bryant met. "Our position is that it's a private meeting between the two of them and it shall remain private between the two of them," Lakers public relations director John Black told the Press-Enterprise in a phone interview Friday night. Team sources "vehemently insisted" to the L.A. Times that there were no plans in the works to trade Bryant. Bryant's saga began three weeks ago when he lashed out on L.A. radio shows, saying the Lakers franchise was headed in the wrong direction, demanding a trade, and backing off those comments all in the same day. Bryant is the only NBA player with a no-trade clause in his contract. He has four years and over $88 million left on his current deal. | Re: Kobe Bryant trade rumors Well, the rumor mills are once again working overtime. According to the Yahoo! Sports rumor page, "Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss conceded that the gaping hole in Bryant's contract could make the nine-time All-Star an ex-Laker by 2009... Buss admitted he gave consideration to trading Bryant during the summer. Buss said Bryant was not necessarily off the table now that the new season had started. Offers will inevitably continue to trickle in, particularly if the Lakers struggle before the February trade deadline." Add this to Buss's comments earlier in the week that Kobe was available for the right price. Kobe could be an ex-Laker by 2009 - Rumors - NBA - Yahoo! Sports |

| Re: Kobe Bryant trade rumors Latest rumor... "The Lakers are reportedly asking for Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, which is more than Chicago is willing to surrender. Kobe, who has the right to veto any deal, may not want to go to Chicago if that much talent is headed to LA. Sources indicate that a trade is not likely before Tuesday's opener, but that Kobe could be dealt by the end of the month." Sounds like he will be heading out of LA sooner than later. |
