If the playoffs started today, The Lakers would play The Suns in the first round. Is anyone giving them a chance too win that series? When speaking of teams that don't match-up well with The Suns, The Lakers are not one of them. But too win the series? Won't this be another typcial throw away 2-7 series in The NBA playoffs in which the two seed closes it out in a maximium of five games? Are there any optimists (or pessimists, depending on your point of view) who think otherwise?

No chance. The Lakers don't have a prayer of beating the Suns for one game let alone a seven game series. Or is it five? I forget. But you know what it doesn't matter because it's the Sun's year. They are focused and are heading for the Conference Finals vs. Dallas

The Lakers have a prayer. The only hope is, however, for them to steal two in Phoenix. Otherwise, Kobe panics when the Lakes go down 1-1 or 2-1, starts taking eighty shots a game to prove some abstract point and that's all she (Jennie Buss) wrote.

Lakers 101, Bucks 96. L.A.'s now 3 games over .500 and sitting pretty in the No. 7 spot. Third straight win to boot. With just a few more, maybe they can pass Memphis? I'm sure they'd much rather play Denver than Phoenix.

This win was absolutely typical and shows why they will a) upset or b) go out in four come playoff time. All the classic hallmarks: Kwame is awake (quick, Lakes! He's peaking! Feed him the ball!), Odom gets an LA Odom performance of 16-9-7, Smush gets some, and Kobe hits from everywhere. This team plays in the Western Conference title at least.

But that Mr. Hyde version...nobody fears them.
