Lakers suffer record loss

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered an embarrassing, record-setting setback yesterday, losing to the Dallas Mavericks 108-72. It's the team's worst loss since they moved to the West Coast back in 1960. "I'm frustrated how the ballclub is going in a nosedive," Smush Parker told reporters after the game. "I'm not pleased with my play, and I'm not pleased with the team's play. I know I can play better than this."

So, Laker fans... how does your team turn it around?

By moving back to Minnesota...or at least changing that Laker name...is not like L.A. is full of Lakes...I am suggesting the L.A. Agents...or the L.A. B-rated Movie Stars...or the L.A. Pimps....

They have god's gift to basketball, a legend in his own mind. Let him take the team on his shoulders. Ah..it's not that easy without Shaq, is it?

I don't believe "play" has ever been used as a noun.

He should say, "playing results" or something of that general matter.

Play, (noun) or the act of playing (verb) refers to the act of engaging in unrestrained, amusing interaction with people or things

So Parker can indeed be unhappy with his interactions on the basketball court

and lets not even get into Play as in theatrical performances ...which may also be a noun.

Or "play" as in a prepared strategy for a sporting event, for that matter (i.e. The quarterback calls the play in the huddle.) Linguistics is far from the biggest issue here, though... L.A. is struggling big-time and now the NBA is watching Kobe and his "trick elbow" like a hawk. He almost got a third suspension today but was let off with a warning.
