Lakers Pistons Game

What a tease the boys in purple and gold are.

Kobe goes for forty, Odom throws in 24 and dishes out 10 assists, Kwame comes in and shuts down Sheed while grabbing 12 boards (10 on D).

Lakers over Pistons 105-94.

Now this team can play. If only we see this version in the playoffs...

Cheers.

Re: Lakers 105, Pistons 94

Uh-oh... are the Lakers actually starting to gel? You've got all the major roles there except for shotblocker. Kobe as primary scorer, Odom as second option and assist man, and Brown as defensive stud and board crasher. They've won two in a row and are still hanging onto that 8th seed in the West. What do you think, Os, have they finally found their groove or is this a fluke?

Re: Lakers Pistons Game

Great game. but every bull spit team gets there day in the sun. The PIstons are overated. If the Lakers beat the Spurs tonight lets secure them an 8th place seed and see if they can lose in the 2nd round

Spurs 103, Lakers 90 while Kobe goes for 43.

Re: Lakers Pistons Game

Kobe continues to put up huge numbers this year. Where do you think he will finish in the MVP voting?

Re: Lakers Pistons Game

He's definitely in the top three or four. I would say that Kobe, Iverson, Nash and LeBron are the top candidates at this point. Looks to me like Iverson's had the best year of the four, but I'm not sure which way the MVP voting will go - especially since there's a lot of basketball left to be played!

Kobe, LeBron, Nash (and Shaq and Barkley and Tom Brady, too)

Cheers Desert Rat (i don't believe we've met before) and everybody,

Good question.

I'm one of those of the opinion that the most valuable player is exactly that: the player without whom their team would fold like a house of cards. In football, it should have been Tom Brady a few times. In the NBA far more MVPs should be Shaq's than his measly one he's gotten. MJ probably could have laid claim to the title nearly every year of his career, except in 1993 when Barkley carried the Suns.

But i digress.

I believe Kobe should get it even though he broke my heart. He only will get it if the Lakers finish, say, sixth or so in the West. This year, Kobe (with a dash of Odom molded into little triangles by Dr. Phil) is the Lakers, and Kobe will be judged as the Lakers ultimately are.

LeBron is a scintillating choice. But does this mean that he'll be forever dissed for a second like Shaq? He's still so young, Mr. Stern.

Nash is an interesting choice, too, doing a great job staunching the potential bleeding of a Phoenix team without Amare. But back to back? Nash? I don't know...

Nowitzki...? Or will he still be generally perceived of as Irk? I'm sure Nitch wants to weigh in on this one...

Exclamation Re: Lakers Pistons Game

Kobe should not get MVP he is not the most VALUABLE player. If there was a award for the most selfish and arragent player he would be right up there with Shaq and Artest. Dirk doesn't desevere MVP either i have been a mavs fan science dirk has came he is no MVP. I would pick kobe before him.The mavs roster is load with good players. Put him on the lakers and they would be doing worse with dirk. Backstabbin' steve nash doesn't desverve MVP if he did the mavs would have gone all the way 3 years ago. Again put him on the lakes just think about how bad they would be MVP FOR 05-06 ELTON BRAND

Elton Brand never was a quitter while being on bad teams like someone named Vince Carter. HE has led this team to victory. When playoff time comes and the clips beat the mavs the first round and are up on the Spurs by a game ask who deserves MVP like charles said they will make it to the finals this year just to lose to the Pistons, pacers, or heat.

Don't beleve the clippers can do it look who they beat Monday i think it was.
