does anyone like sean avery?

I'm an east coast girl. Not so schooled in the ways of the west. Is he a good player? or just a scene stealing mouth spewing angry young man?

He certainly does not fall under the "Quiet and humble as a Swede" category...Normally I like an under sized player with a big mouth, who instigates things...but Avery seems to lack a certain amount of common sense in what he says...I don't mine someone getting under another player's skin during the course of a game, but his remarks sometimes are rather hateful...

Here is a funny article on Avery:

Avery carries a reputation as one of the NHL's chief instigators. He high-sticked forward Darcy Hordichuk in the throat during the second period, then checked forward Paul Kariya into the boards from behind early in the third period.

No penalty was called on the latter play, but the incident prompted Hordichuk to throw Avery to the ice and start pounding on the Kings forward as Avery covered his head.

Still, one has to wonder how much of it is an act...he has to have some sort of charm to be dating Elisha Cuthbert...or maybe she is just an easily impressed air-head....toss up really...

sometimes just being a hockey star is good enough - or a celebrity (vice versa see Fedorov and anna kornikova), doesn't matter if you're an idiot.

When we are talking about idiots...are we refering to Avery?...or to Fedorov who chased Kornikova around like a puppy dog with sad eyes...occassionally I guess she did pat him on the head...

I think, in the end, i mean her - she left him behind. What is she, nuts?
she does inspire the lapdog thing, but I think Bure left her in the dust.

Yeah, you know Bure did to her what she did to Fedorov...I always thought Fedorov was not the same after that...geez, you'd think he would have a little more pride and self respect than that...but greatness on the ice does not always translate to greatness elsewhere...
