Manny Ramirez homered in his first at-bat Saturday during just his second game back from a 50-game suspension for violating MLB's Drug Policy.
The solo shot gave the Dodgers an early 1-0 lead.
In his second at-bat, Ramirez grounded out to short on a close play at first. Ramirez briefly argued the call before retiring to the dugout. Ramirez then hit another sharp grounder to shortstop Everth Cabrera in the sixth, but Cabrera tossed to second to force out Russell Martin and end the inning.
Ramirez turned on a 1-2 changeup from Padres starter Josh Geer with two outs in the first inning. It was his seventh home run of the year, and the 534th of his career -- tying Ramirez with Jimmie Foxx for 16th on the all-time list.
Ramirez left the game in the bottom half of the sixth, and Juan Pierre took his place. In Ramirez's first game back Friday night, he went 0-for-3 with a walk and left after his sixth-inning at-bat
