Lugo to remain a Dodger?

Could shortstop Julio Lugo remain a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers next season? The Los Angeles Times seems to think so. According to a report in today's edition of the paper, "With Kent and shortstop Rafael Furcal signed through next season, Lugo would appear to have little interest in returning to the Dodgers, but Colletti said he hasn't ruled out trying to keep him." Would this be a wise move for L.A.?

Cool Re: Lugo to remain a Dodger?

Lugo is a good player so it's good for the Dodgers. As far as Lugo not wanting to return: Like every other player, he'll go where the most money is.
And then he'll say: "It's not about the money."

Re: Lugo to remain a Dodger?

That is the way sports is these days. No player is that loyal to his ball-club, anymore.

According to CBS Sportsline.Com, Lugo is unhappy about being a utility player for the Los Angeles Dodgers. I don't understand why, since I would be in heaven playing for the Dodgers.

I don't expect Julio Lugo to be offered that much money in the off-season by other teams. His current contract is slightly under $5 Million a year.
