As well all know, Alex Rodriguez has the option to opt out of his current deal with the Yankees and become a free-agent once the Yankees season is over. If he does opt out, the Yanks won't try to keep him. According to
Prospect Insider, their sources say Scott Boras has said to some that A-Rod would only be interested in playing for the Boston Redsox, Anaheim Angels or LA Dodgers.
P.I. hypothesized A-Rod would best fit in Dodger Blue, "Perhaps the best fit is with the Los Angeles Dodgers. L.A. finished 82-80 this season but remained in the playoff race until the final month of the year. The infusion of Matt Kemp and James Loney in place of aging, less talented veterans kept Los Angeles in it for a lot longer in which than they were expected. Rafael Furcal and Juan Pierre at the top of the order, with Rodriguez, Kemp, Loney, All-Star catcher Russell Martin and a healthy Nomar Garciaparra would provide the Dodgers with plenty off offense to win the ultra-competitive NL West."
So if A-Rod continues to have a poor post-season, this could become a reality this winter. Does anyone think A-Rod would be a great fit with the Dodgers?
