According to the Los Angeles Daily News, "In the fifth inning of Wednesday night's game, a 2-1 loss to the Houston Astros in front of 31,498 at Minute Maid Park, Dodgers right-hander Derek Lowe walked off the mound and into the clubhouse with a left groin injury. On the way, he stopped in the corner of the dugout and slammed his glove against a wall, directly in front of an active television camera."

There was supposed to be an MRI today - any word yet on how long he's going to be out?

Word now from Dodgers.com is that it isn't a groin injury at all. Rather, it's being described as an "irritation of the left hip," which according to the article, "was the original diagnosis for pitchers Jason Isringhausen of the Cardinals last year and Justin Duchscherer of the Oakland A's this year, and both ultimately required arthroscopic hip surgery." So it's looking more and more like Low may need surgery to correct this condition. Bad news for Dodger fans, eh?
