| Nomar Garciaparra rumors I've been hearing rumblings that the Dodgers are looking to replace Nomar Garciaparra, who is hitting .281 with just one home run and 38 RBI this season. Could Nomar be on his way out of L.A. and if so, who do the Dodgers get to replace him?

| Re: Nomar Garciaparra rumors Nope. I remember the clamor when Boston talked of trading him. You'd a thunk it was the end of the world. Granted he has/had a great personality but the numbers just weren't there and the DL time was on th eincrease. Good trade for Boston.

| Re: Nomar Garciaparra rumors Nomar continues to struggle. According to the LA Daily News, "A guy who for 11 seasons was one of baseball's top run-producing infielders has turned into a slap hitter with occasional warning-track power. Since May 1, he is hitting .261 with one homer and four doubles in 203 at-bats... A man who for 11 seasons went for extra bases on 39percent of his hits, reached the All-Star break with 14 extra-base hits in his 85 safeties - a Juan Pierre-like 16.8 percent rate... Nomar has been a steady drain on the Dodgers' offense for two-and-a-half months. A team starved for extra-base hits is getting singles only from Garciaparra... And no one knows why, beginning with Nomar." Is there any hope that Garciaparra will EVER be able to get things righted? |
