Jeff Kent consecutive 10 HR season record

According to ESPN, Jeff Kent has just set a Major League Baseball record by hitting at least 10 home runs in 16 consecutive seasons. Reggie Sanders is behind him with 15, followed by several players including Manny Ramirez and Mike Piazza who have done so in 14 straight seasons. So, isn't it surprising that Kent has been such a consistant player in this regard?
