In the first week after the non-waiver trade deadline, Oakland Athletics designated hitter Mike Piazza and Baltimore Orioles shortstop Miguel Tejada were reportedly among the players whose names were placed on the waiver wire.

Piazza cleared waivers and could be traded at any time. Tejada was claimed by the Chicago White Sox, and the Orioles recalled him from waivers.

Piazza's name has been linked with the Los Angeles Angels and Minnesota Twins in trade speculation over the past month. The DH reportedly favors playing on either coast.

I guess the Angels would be a good fit. The Angels can definitely use some pop.

Piazza is all but washed up. He can't stay on the field to begin with, and he has lost lots of bat speed. Time to hang it up.

Not much...But as a right handed DH against lefties, he might be of value. But that's it.

As an Angels fan, I don't want to see Piazza go to Anaheim. There is an interesting side story to the possibility, it was Piazza that replaced Angels manager Mike Scioscia as the full time catcher for the Dodgers many years ago.

Sure about that Desertrat? Piazza was just a double short of the cycle last night. Looks like he still has some pop left.
