Did Kelvin Escobar deserve to make the AL All star team?

10-3, 3.19 ERA, 88K's, 1.16 WHIP

These numbers look pretty good to me.

I just assumed he would make it. He has pitched fantastic this year. His previous injury riddled years more than likely kept him off the radar. It has been a quiet 10 wins.

With Angels pitchers John Lackey and Francisco Rodriguez already on the team along with OF Vladimir Guerrero it appears Escobar was simply a victim of numbers. It's difficult to justify selecting 3 pitchers from the same team to give that team a total of 4 players.

I guess this would also fall into the stupid 'player from every team' rule. He is much better than Meche, and he made it.
